Security Insights: A New Type of Phishing Attack
Genady Vishnevetsky
Cybercriminals are increasingly using QR codes in phishing attacks to trick people into visiting malicious websites, making this method harder for defenders to detect. QR codes bypass traditional email security scans since they embed the malicious URL within an image. Moreover, mobile devices, which are often used to scan these codes, typically lack the advanced security measures found on laptops and desktops, leaving users more vulnerable.
