Johnny Collins, who will serve as Agent At-Large Director on TLTA's board, is a forward thinking and passionate title insurance executive and we’re excited to have his perspectives help guide our association. The son of a prominent real estate broker, Johnny literally grew up in the business and made the most of that experience to carve his own path in the title insurance industry.
Charlie Craig brings a wealth of experience to the board in his new role as Underwriter At-Large Director, and we’re excited to have him helping guide our association. His 35 years of industry expertise and in-depth legal knowledge will be a powerful addition to TLTA's board.

In Memoriam: June Marie Eubanks Van Etten
JULY 9, 1945 - NOVEMBER 18, 2022
It is with great sadness we report that June Marie Van Etten passed away on Friday, November 18, 2022.
June was a longtime member of the industry and a very active volunteer member of TLTA, serving on many committees, including the Member Services Committee, the Annual Conference Committee, the Certification Committee, and other volunteer positions. She was well loved by all her title business friends and will be greatly missed.

In Memoriam: Claude Hays
DECEMBER 26, 1932 - OCTOBER 14, 2022
Claude Alfred Hays, Jr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend died peacefully on Friday, October 14, 2022.
Upon graduating from law school with Honors, Claude worked for Shell Oil Company in the land department for ten years. In 1970, the family moved to Georgetown, where Claude became the owner of Georgetown Title Company, and served as President. Claude was also an owner of Longhorn Title Company.
Claude cared deeply about those he worked with and poured his time, treasures, and talents into serving his church, his family, and his community where he saw a need and in whatever capacity he was called. Among other things, he served as a deacon and, later, trustee of First Baptist Church Georgetown, sat on the board of the Georgetown Healthcare Foundation, and was the recipient of the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce’s Owen W. Sherrill Award.

TLTA's Day at the Capitol is one of the many initiatives that help our industry maintain strong working relationships with legislators at the state capitol. Elected officials in Austin make decisions that impact our industry's health and longevity, and Day at the Capitol is an opportunity for any and all title professionals in Texas to meet with legislators and their staff at the Texas Capitol to make sure our voices are heard in lawmakers' decision-making process.

We'll be welcoming nearly 40 new Texas legislators when the 88th Legislative Session kicks off in January, and your TLTA PAC and advocacy team have our work cut out for us educating those new members about title insurance – what we do and why our work is so important.
Stephen R. Streiff Promoted to SVP and Deputy General Counsel of Old Republic Central Title, Inc.
Steve Streiff, Vice President of Old Republic National Title Insurance Company (ORNTIC) and Texas State Counsel, has been promoted to Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel of Old Republic Central Title. Inc. (ORCTI). Steve joined Old Republic Title in June 2002 as a Title Examiner and Assistant Plant Manager, quickly advancing to Underwriting Attorney and then Texas State Counsel.
Celebrating 20 years with Old Republic and 30 years in the title insurance industry this year, Steve has a wealth of experience that serves him, his company, and our association well. TLTA is lucky to count Steve among our volunteer leaders. In addition to serving as a member of several of our committees, Steve currently serves as chair of the TLTA’s Legislative Committee and is past chair of the Regulatory Committee. In 2018, he was recognized for his outstanding service to TLTA with the President’s Award, and in 2021, he was named Title Person of the Year.
Stephanie Stigant Joins National Investors Title Insurance Company as Vice President
National Investors Title Insurance Company is happy to announce the addition of Stephanie Stigant as vice president – Texas underwriting counsel. Prior to joining National Investors, Ms. Stigant owned and managed an independent title agency in Fort Bend County for 17 years. She has also practiced as a real estate, banking, estate planning, and probate attorney since 2011 in a law firm based in Sugar Land, Texas.
Stephanie serves on TLTA's Legislative Committee, our Regulatory Committee, and is a member of Basic Manual Task Force Subcommittee.

Title Resources Group Welcomes Two New Executives
Title Resources Group (TRG) announced this month that they have welcomed two new team members to their executive leadership team. Peter Prygelski joined the company as Chief Financial Officer and Lisa Clarke-Wilson as Chief of Staff.
"I've very excited about the capabilities Pete and Lisa bring to the team. Pete has a compelling blend of strategic and financial expertise and Lisa brings a strategic and operational lens. Both will play a tremendous role in helping us get to the next stage in our journey," said Title Resources Group Chief Executive Officer Scott McCall.
