10th Anniversary of ALTA's NTP Designation Reminder That Professional Certification Is a Lasting Advantage

TLTA | July 28, 2022
As TLTA's community of certified professionals and industry educators can attest, earning formal certification of fundamental title industry skillsets and specialties is an effective way to communicate to employers, customers and clients your commitment to professionalism and your mastery of our industry's core competencies.

The American Land Title Association (ALTA) National Title Professional (NTP) designation is celebrating its 10th Anniversary this year, and the program continues to deliver the opportunity for qualified title professionals nationwide to demonstrate their industry proficiency and commitment to professional development.

To qualify for a NTP designation, you must satisfy a number of requirements, including first earning the professional certification designation of your local state land title association. So, Texans applying for an NTP would have to first earn one of TLTA's 3 professional certification designations (i.e., CTIP, CAEP or CESP).

TLTA's professional certification program celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2019, so we know how important this milestone is for ALTA and the network of professionals involved in the NTP program. On behalf of TLTA's certification program, we congratulate the talented team at ALTA and all the NTPs nationwide who share our commitment to professional excellence!

If you're ready to stand out in the crowded field of title professionals vying for your market's business and good jobs, check out TLTA's certification program. You can learn more about ALTA's NTP program here.

Few experiences are more frustrating: You spend hours, days, or weeks preparing for a high-pressure moment — a presentation, an interview, a client pitch — and when it finally arrives, stress and anxiety get the best of you. Instead of giving the performance you know you're capable of, you "choke."

Sian Beilock, a cognitive scientist and the president of Barnard College, has experienced this many times — first while growing up as an athlete, and then during her 12-year tenure as a professor of psychology at the University of Chicago, where her research focused on how children and adults perform at their best, particularly under stress. All of this led her to write Choke: What the Secrets of the Brain Reveal About Getting It Right When You Have To.
