TLTA Members Share Their Current Stress Management Techniques – We’d Love to Hear Your Ideas Too!
TLTA | Oct. 20, 2020
Feeling stressed out these days? We are too, and we're doing something about it!
Many of us can answer a resounding yes when asked if our stress levels are higher than normal these days. There’s a lot to cope with, whether it’s managing our personal and family health, navigating the noise of election season, juggling busy workloads while overseeing new school environments for our kids, or missing the social activities we're accustomed to...the list goes on. We are definitely in “one day at a time” territory.
We sent a survey to TLTA members, asking them to answer the following questions:
What strategies are you personally employing to manage your stress and protect your mental health?
What coping techniques have you put in place in the workplace to help your co-workers and employees manage and stay positive and productive during these trying times?
We've already received dozens of responses, and the tips, techniques and suggestions keep pouring in. Here's a sampling of what we've heard from our industry so far:
So, how are you doing and how are you managing all of it? Would you respond and share your thoughts with us? We'd really love to hear your valuable input!
It's Not Too Late to Take this Brief, 30-Second Survey
Share your tips and strategies for dealing with these new challenges and share them with everyone so we can learn from each other!
Let's get through this thing together, stronger than ever, with a little help from our friends!
Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar to Headline TLTA's Virtual Town Hall Nov. 16
TLTA town halls have traditionally been a roadshow with our current association president (and TLTA staff in tow) traveling the state to gather member feedback, make new connections and more. Because we can’t be in your community this fall, TLTA President John Bruce and your team at TLTA are doing something new instead.
We are pleased to announce the TLTA Town Hall Insights Series, featuring the latest, timely info you need to navigate the unprecedented and challenging marketplace we're operating in. Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar will be our first guest Nov. 16 at 2 p.m. – mark your calendar now and make a plan to join us!
Each session of the Town Hall Insights Series will feature a special guest speaker providing insights on big issues our industry is facing, as well as a brief update on TLTA's work in progress. All virtual Town Hall sessions will be available to all TLTA members free of charge.
Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar
Mark Your Calendar: Nov. 16 - 2 p.m.
Watch For Emails With More Info
In the coming weeks you'll receive an email with how to attend this one-of-a-kind virtual event with Comptroller Hegar, and you can expect to see at least two additional virtual Town Halls over the next three to four months. Each of our town hall events will include a featured speaker, and we know you'll be excited about the experts we're lining up.
Again, keep an eye out for an email containing log-in info for the virtual town hall event Nov. 16. Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar's insights on state finances promise to be valuable information for all of us working in the nexus of the real estate marketplace, state and local governments, and the Texas economy.
TLTA's Local Legislative Liaisons Continue Making Our Industry's Relationships With Texas Lawmakers a Top Priority
COVID-19 may have complicated our efforts to maintain strong connections with the legislators who oversee our regulated industry, but TLTA's Local Legislative Liaisons (LLLs) continue finding ways to preserve effective lines of communication with the elected officials on whom our TLTA community relies. Among the good work being done by our LLLs is the continued delivery of TLTAPAC checks via Zoom fundraisers and in-person meetings. As the upcoming election approaches and TLTAPAC giving moves into high gear, the timely delivery of PAC checks is a crucial component of our extensive efforts to support our legislative allies.
DJ Horn played in Rep. Justin Holland's golf tournament Oct. 8. in Rockwall (photographed with TLTA's hole sponsor sign); Dawn Thompson participated in Sen. Jane Nelson's drive-by fundraiser Oct. 8 in Fort Worth
If you haven't already done so in 2020, now is the time to
step up and protect your career by making a financial contribution to your TLTAPAC.
While the COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted our normal PAC fundraising efforts, we're closing the gap and you can help us meet our 2020 fundraising goal by making a financial contribution to your
TLTAPAC today!
Special Offer: Experience the Best of Both Worlds!
Many of us will miss the experience of being at the Hyatt Hill Country Resort for the Texas Land Title Institute this year – a location that has become a tradition for us over the years. But, even though the Institute has transitioned to a full-virtual program Dec. 7-9 , we received great news -
the Hyatt has graciously agreed to offer our very low $186 TLTA group rate to anyone who’d still like to stay at the resort, on their own, anytime from Dec. 1-9. And, everyone who takes advantage of these low room rates will be helping the Hyatt fill the rooms left empty when we had to transform this year’s live, in-person Institute program to a full-virtual format.
This special offer from our friends at the Hyatt is available to everyone, so bring along your family and friends. What a great opportunity to enjoy a long weekend, get some much-needed R&R, treat yourself to a round of golf or spa treatment, shop for holiday gifts in San Antonio, or whatever strikes your fancy. Again, a huge thank you to our long-standing hosts at the resort for their gracious hospitality and flexibility as we transitioned to a virtual event this year!
Register for the Special $186 Rate from the Hyatt, Available Anytime Dec. 1-9
(Please note that reserving a room at the Hyatt does not register you for Institute. Click below to register for 2020 Virtual Land Title Institute.)
