Over the last 10 years, TLTA has been providing a grant for the Texas Courthouse Stewardship Initiative, a training and technical program run by the Texas Historical Commission that is designed to promote the ongoing, regular maintenance of Texas' historic county courthouses. TLTA is delighted to share news about the Navarro County Courthouse's recent renovation and the rededication on July 9. Designed by architect J.E. Flanders of Dallas, the building is Navarro County’s fifth courthouse. It is designated a State Antiquities Landmark and Recorded Texas Historic Landmark, and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

Roland Love Named President of North America Title Company's Texas Region

North American Title Company has named Roland Love president of its Texas region. Love will oversee operations for more than 20 NATC branches throughout Texas.
Love’s law practice has focused primarily on real estate and title matters for more than 30 years. He has served with distinction in many professional associations, including as chair of the State Bar of Texas Real Estate, Probate and Trust Law Section, as a Fellow in the American College of Real Estate Lawyers and several chairmanships with TLTA, including chair of the Institute Committee. He is also a recipient of TLTA's Professional Excellence Award. In addition, he serves as a member of the Texas Title Examination Standards Board and as an examiner for the State Bar Board of Legal Specialization.

First American Title Announces Promotion of Mike Savas and Steve Mercer, Retirement of Mark Greek

First American Title has appointed Mike Savas to the position of SVP, Red River Region. Effective Sept. 1, he will be assuming the responsibilities of Mark Greek, who will be retiring at the end of the year. Mike is a 24-year veteran of the title insurance industry and has been with First American Title for 11 years. He currently serves on the TLTA Board of Directors and is a recipient of the TLTA James H. Garst President’s Award.
First American Title also recently announced the promotion of Steve Mercer to the position of Strategic Development Director. Steve is a 24-year veteran of First American Title.
As mentioned above, Mark Greek will be retiring from First American Title effective Dec. 31. He will be dividing his time between Texas and Knoxville, Tennessee, and looks forward to spending more time with his family. A 30-year veteran of the title insurance industry, Mark has been closely involved with TLTA throughout his career, winning the Young TItle Person Award as well as the Title Person of the Year Award. He is a TLTA Past President, and currently serves as the TLTAPAC Fundraising Co-Chair.
