How Cybercriminals Exploit Human Nature
PYMNTS.com | April 29, 2016
According to the results of Verizon’s 2016 Data Breach Investigations Report, released on April 27, cybercriminals have become quite adept at using their victims’ human nature against them in order to get what they want.
For example, the study found that nearly 63 percent of confirmed data breaches involved using weak, default or stolen passwords. The data also shows that most cyberattacks exploit vulnerabilities that are known to the targeted organization and have never been addressed, even if security patches have been available for months or years.

Leslie Midgley Elected New Board Chair of Girl Scouts of Central Texas
Girl Scouts of Central Texas | May 6, 2016
By a unanimous vote, the Girl Scouts of Central Texas elected TLTA Executive Vice President and CEO Leslie Midgley as the new Board Chair and Corporation President. She has served on the Board of GSCTX since 2013.
Leslie grew up as a Girl Scout, beginning as a Brownie, eventually earning the First Class (now known as the Gold Award), the highest recognition a Girl Scout could earn. Her mother was her troop leader and later served on the Council in Brownwood, Texas.
“The lessons I learned through Girls Scouts helped define who I am and continue to inform my decisions every day," she said. "I’m so proud to be able to give back to an organization that made such an impact on my life. The Girl Scout movement has grown and expanded over the years to remain relevant with what today’s girls need, and Girl Scouts of Central Texas is on the forefront, offering incredible programming to help build strong female leaders. How exciting to be part of that!”

The Texas title insurance industry employs over 13,000 people – but fewer than 650 people have donated to the TLTAPAC this year. Support your industry by inducting your company into the One Hundred Percent Club!
