CONGRATULATIONS TO THE 2008 TLTA AWARD WINNERS
BRIAN PITMAN - TITLE PERSON OF THE YEAR
TLTA awarded Brian Pitman, President and COO of Independence Title Company in Austin with the esteemed Title Person of the Year Award. The award recognizes significant and longtime contributions to the title industry and the association. It is the highest distinction bestowed by TLTA.
TOM RUTLEDGE - PRESIDENT'S AWARD
Sheri Asbell presented longtime TLTA counsel Tom Rutledge, of the Austin law firm Sneed, Vine and Perry, P.C., with the President's Award. The award recognizes the achievements of an individual who has shown outstanding service to the TLTA president during his or her year in office.
JACK RATTIKIN, JR - HONORARY MEMBERSHIP FOR SUSTAINED MERITORIOUS SERVICE
TLTA awarded Jack Rattikin, Jr., President of Rattikin Title Company in Fort Worth, with Honorary Membership. The honor is in recognition of Rattikin's many contributions to the association and the title industry.
DJ HORN - RISING STAR AWARD
TLTA awarded DJ Horn, Agency Representative with Title Resources Guaranty Company, the Rising Star Award. The award recognizes an up and coming TLTA committee member for devoting extra time, showing enthusiasm in their role and exhibiting leadership skills.
SHARI K. FOSTER - PEGGY HAYES TEACHING EXCELLENCE AWARD
TLTA awarded Shari Foster, Vice President, Agency Manager and Education Director of Chicago Title Insurance Company the Peggy Hayes Teaching Excellence Award. The award recognizes an instructor for TLTA's Land Title School of Texas who has shown outstanding service and dedication to the Land Title School.
DANA GONZALES - E. GORDON SMITH SCHOLARSHIP WINNER
TLTA awarded Dana Gonzales, Title Examiner with Aggieland Title Company in Bryan, the E. Gordon Smith Award. The award is given to the individual who scores the highest grade on the exam at the TLTA Land Title School.
JOEY PROHASKA - SUPER STAR AWARD
TLTA awarded Joey Prohaska, President of Professional Escrow and Title Services, Inc. in Denton, the Super Star Award, for the second consecutive year. The award recognizes the most recruited Individual Members to the association during 2007-2008.
PROFESSIONAL EXCELLENCE AWARDS
TLTA awarded the Professional Excellence Award to Tammy Chapman, Escrow Officer with Greene Title & Abstract in Mount Pleasant; Karen McCarroll Executive Vice President of University Title Company in College Station; and Laurel Burns Stuckey, Branch Manager of Commerce Title in San Antonio. The award honors exceptional contributions and extraordinary achievement by those employees who exhibit outstanding customer service.
THANK YOU, BOB! LONGTIME TLTA CONFERENCE PHOTOGRAPHER HONORED
TLTA also recognized Bob Daemmrich, longtime TLTA Annual Conference photographer, for his service of 27 years of service and friendship to the association.
TLTAPAC GOLF TOURNAMENT NAMED "BERT MASSEY CLASSIC"
At the TLTAPAC Breakfast, Roland Love announced that the annual TLTAPAC golf tournament, traditionally held as a PAC fundraiser in conjunction with the Annual Conference, will be named the "Bert Massey Classic" in recognition of Bert's dedication to the TLTAPAC. Bert was instrumental in establishing the TLTAPAC during his year as president in 1981-82 and has served as its chair for more than 25 years.
