CFPB to Host Field Hearing in El Paso Tomorrow

TLTA has been notified that the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) will host a field hearing in El Paso this Thursday, July 17th at 10:30 a.m MDT. If you are in the area, this is a unique opportunity to hear from this new regulator whose policies affect our industry directly.

The hearing will focus on the CFPB's consumer complaint portal — is it working, are customers using it and are institutions responding. The event will feature remarks from CFPB Director Richard Cordray, as well as testimony from consumer groups, industry representatives and members of the public.

A livestream of the hearing will be available on the CFPB's blog before the event here. The event is open to the public, but if you would like to attend, you need to RSVP. Due to a scheduling conflict with another TLTA meeting, we will not be able to have our staff there, so if you or someone from your office can attend, please let us know and we will RSVP on your behalf.
