Bryan-College Station Title Industry
Professional Honored by Statewide
Trade Association
June 27, 2022
AUSTIN – The Texas Land Title Association (TLTA), one of the state’s
oldest trade associations, recently named Celia Goode-Haddock an
Honorary Member for Sustained Meritorious Service. The award was
presented during TLTA’s Annual Conference and Business Meeting in Fort
Worth. This prestigious honor is awarded rarely and is reserved for
industry leaders who have provided exemplary service to both the
association and the title industry over many years.
“Throughout her entire career from start to finish, Celia was an incredibly
active TLTA volunteer leader, giving of herself to support the industry she
loved,” said Leslie Midgley, Executive Vice President and CEO of TLTA.
“She was involved in the first land title schools in the late 1970s, and she
served on or chaired nearly every TLTA committee and most of the
association’s task forces. She served three separate times on TLTA’s
Board of Directors and for almost 20 years on the PAC board of trustees.
However, her greatest TLTA legacy may be chairing the committee that
developed the first Leadership Academy in 2012. We are so very grateful
for her many contributions and tireless service to the title insurance
industry over many years.”
This is not the first time Goode-Haddock’s work was recognized by her
industry peers. She was named Outstanding Young Title Person in 1998
and Title Person of the Year in 2012.
Celia started her career in the family title business after she graduated
from Texas A&M University in 1972. In 1983, she and her partners
purchased University Title Company from her father, and she became
president of that company. She retired a few years ago.
While she was growing a successful company, raising a family, and giving
countless hours to TLTA, she was also giving to her community. She
served as Chairman of the Bryan-College Station Chamber of Commerce
and was named Chamber Citizen of the year in 2004. She also served on
the Real Estate Research Center Advisory Board and was named an
outstanding Alumni of Texas A&M in 2009. One of her most cherished
honors is the Habitat for Humanity Lifetime Achievement Award and
having a street named after her in a Habitat subdivision.
