Travis County District Court Issues Temporary Injunction Requested by TLTA. Rate Reduction Scheduled to Go Into Effect July 1 Is On Hold for Now.

On May 30, 2025, in response to a hearing held earlier that week, Travis County District Court Judge Lyttle granted TLTA’s request for a Temporary Injunction, putting on hold the 10% title insurance rate reduction ordered by TDI. You can read the Judge's order granting the

Texas Legislature 89th Session Update: Session Adjourned Sine Die June 2; Veto Period Continues Through June 22.

The Texas House and Senate adjourned Sine Die on June 2, ending the 89th Legislative Session. While special sessions could be called at a later date, Gov. Abbott is not expected to do so at this time. Learn more about the session’s outcomes in this

Governor’s veto period continues through June 22
Bills sent to Gov. Abbott in the final 10 days of the session are subject to a veto period that extends 20 days after sine die adjournment. This gives the governor until Sunday, June 22, to act on those bills.
