TLTA To Present Free Webinar Next Thursday on U.S. Treasury FinCEN Order Effective Aug. 28

As Dateline Austin reported last week, the U.S. Treasury Department Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) Geographic Targeting Order (GTO) for Bexar County goes into effect on Sunday, Aug. 28.

TLTA will present a free webinar next week outlining the order and how to comply. All title insurance agents and underwriters in Bexar County or who are involved in handling transactions in Bexar County are urged to participate.

Despite this fact, a small group of billionaires are pushing to move Texas into a radically different system that could have disastrous consequences."

CFPB Publishes 900-Page Final Rule on Mortgage Servicing

The CFPB finalized new regulations Thursday that it says will ensure homeowners and struggling borrowers are treated fairly by mortgage servicers.
 
The final mortgage servicing rule will require servicers to provide certain borrowers with foreclosure protections more than once over the life of the loan, clarifies borrower protections when the servicing of a loan is transferred and provides loan information to borrowers in bankruptcy.
