ALTA Sends CFPB Letter Expressing Three Recommendations for TRID
American Land Title Association | July 7, 2016
On Tuesday, ALTA sent a letter to CFPB director Richard Cordray, outlining three particular concerns that they hope the CFPB will address during the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking. As Dateline Austin reported on March 16, 2016, Sen. Bob Corker from Tennessee
sent a letter to the CFPB expressing concerns about TRID, specifically about customer confusion, liability being transferred to a third party and a lack of specificity as causes for his concern; and while
the CFPB responded, the organization has not formally prohibited a liability shift.
The issues discussed in ALTA's most recent letter are:
Giving customers accurate title insurance costs
Ensuring lenders cannot shift liability for their disclosure mistakes
Offering more detailed guidance

TLTAPAC Fundraising Tops $641,000!

Whether it's $10 or $1,000, every dollar that TLTAPAC raises helps us all.
TLTA extends a huge thank you to all 1,123 donors to the TLTAPAC, especially the donors who joined the
One Hundred Club and the
