CFPB to Consider Possible Changes to TRID
Texas Land Title Association | April 29, 2016
On April 27, the CFPB issued a letter announcing that they are drafting a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on TRID. Said CFPB director Richard Cordray, "We recognize that the implementation of the Know Before You Owe rule poses many operational challenges...We also believe that there are places in the regulation text and commentary where adjustments would be useful for greater certainty and clarity. Accordingly, we have begun drafting a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking...We hope to issue the NPRM in late July and look forward to your comments on it then."
“TLTA is pleased that the CFPB is acknowledging the concerns of industry and is willing to consider changes,” said Leslie Midgley, executive vice president and CEO of TLTA. "We look forward to providing comments and participating in the process to improve this rule."
