CFPB Pledges Leeway in Early TRID Exams

The CFPB openly acknowledged that the transition to new mortgage-disclosure requirements presents a major challenge for lenders, saying it will give them some leeway in upcoming exams.
 
"We're very aware of the significant challenges the industry has faced in order to get into compliance with this rule," said Allison Brown, a program manager in mortgage servicing in the CFPB's office of supervision policy.

Upcoming Deadlines for Owners/Managers

Last September, TLTA published a handy compliance checklist for many TDI regulations and other miscellaneous reporting requirements. The TRID Ripples: Time to Close Mortgage Loans Continues to Rise

In the months since the implementation of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s TILA-RESPA Integrated Disclosures rule last October, repeated evidence shows the impact of TRID, whether the reports were anecdotal or statistical.
 
Now, a new report from Ellie Mae shows more statistical evidence on how deeply the impact of TRID is being felt, with the time to close a mortgage loan climbing again.
