TDI Announces Plans to Provide Regulatory Relief to Aid COVID-19 Response
March 19, 2020
The Texas Department of Insurance announced today that they're coordinating with several state agencies on steps to help our state reduce the spread of COVID-19 and minimize potential regulatory burdens. They cited plans to ease agent and adjuster licensing requirements and claim-related deadlines where possible. This is a good sign of things to come, and is consistent with the ongoing conversations TLTA is having with the department.
TDI also posted a list of office emails in case you have trouble reaching your normal agency contact by phone, as well as forms where you can get help with pending filing issues or ask questions. You’ll find both on
their website.
Additionally, TDI encourages everyone to visit their
coronavirus resource page for past messages and industry guidance.
TDI continues working on issues that inhibit our industry's ability to serve our community during this public health crisis. Stay tuned; they’ll be coming out with new guidance soon. We appreciate the department's hard work during this challenging time.
