Alex H. Halff

Alex H. Halff’s title industry career began in 1955 with Alamo Title Company—the San Antonio company his father founded. Beginning in the abstract plant in 1955, Alex became President of the company in 1970 and eventually retired as Chairman in 1999.
Alex served as President of TLTA from 1977-78 and was honored in 1985 with TLTA’s prestigious Title Person of the Year award. In 2008, he was awarded an honorary membership to the association for his many contributions to the association and the land title industry in Texas.
In 2011 the TLTA Board of Directors unanimously voted to approve the development of the Alex H. Halff Leadership Academy. Several members had contacted TLTA following Alex’s death looking for special ways to recognize him and his outstanding contributions to the industry and the association. The naming of the Leadership Academy was a fitting tribute, as Alex served as a mentor to many title professionals and had a lasting and profound influence on many of our active volunteers.
