goal of this course is to familiarize attorneys, paralegals, settlement agents
and title professionals with the fundamental duties and obligations of an
escrow officer in handling funds and how to overcome issues that evolve prior
to disbursement at closing. Upon completion of the course, attendees should:
1.        Have a general understanding of the
Texas Department of Insurance Minimum Escrow Accounting
 Standards
2.        Understand how Texas Insurance Code
Title 11 §2702.053 (Article 9.53) andÂ
Procedural Rule P-27 apply
 to closings
3.        Understand how TDI Commissioner's
Bulletin # B-0013-99 applies to realtor commissions
4.        Understand the rights of each of the
parties to the funds on deposit in the escrow account
5.        Understand how to cure good funds
issues, if necessary.
6.        Understand how to document unusual
receipts and disbursement requests for audit purposes
