The goal of this course is to provide an introduction to manufactured housing on real estate, to familiarize attorneys, paralegals, settlement agents and title insurance professionals with how manufactured homes on land impact coverage under a title policy, and specifically how to deal with defects discovered during the course of examination of the title.
Upon completion of the course, attendees should:
1. Have a general understanding of manufactured homes and the difference between the home’s status
as real property or personal property
2. Understand the function the Texas Department of Housing & Community Affairs plays in the status of
the manufactured home.
3. Understand how to correct defects found in the status of the manufactured home to allow it to be
insured under both an Owner’s Policy of Title Insurance and Loan Policy of Title Insurance
