This presentation will discuss the basics of non-judicial foreclosures, judicial foreclosures, foreclosures of home equity loans and reverse mortgage loans, and how each type of foreclosure must be dealt with from a title insurance perspective. The framework for foreclosure of various types of liens will be set forth as well as the effect of foreclosure upon other recorded liens. Uncommon circumstances will be discussed along with the impact of COVID-19 related laws and regulations. Attendees should better understand types of foreclosures, effects of foreclosure, and issues that can affect insurability of title.
