Event has a status of Frozen

Recorded April 20, 2017

The wide-ranging content in this webinar will inform title and escrow personnel and real estate attorneys about the variety of foreclosures possible in Texas. Attendees will learn the distinctions between non-judicial and judicial foreclosure proceedings, including statutory requirements set out in the Texas Property Code. References to significant appellate court opinions will be cited where appropriate. Pre-foreclosure obstacles and post-foreclosure complications will be explored, with an emphasis on avoiding title and transactional difficulties. The presentation will also touch on topics of particular interest for title professionals and attorneys alike, such a survival and extinguishment of federal tax liens, identification of “super-priority” liens and existence of post-foreclosure redemption rights.

Specific areas of discussion include:

•What effect does the Servicemembers’ Civil Relief Act have on foreclosures?

•What are “removables”?

•How and when must an executory contract for purchase be foreclosed by trustee’s sale?

•When is Texas Rule of Civil Procedure 736 applicable to a foreclosure action?

•Plus “What if . . .?” scenarios and much more.

This webinar’s materials are useful in preparing for the TLTA certification exam, as well as for increasing your knowledge on this important subject.
